WHOIS Lookup

Find out who registered a domain or owns an IP range — registrar, creation/expiry dates, name servers and network details.

WHOIS (and its modern successor RDAP) is the public registration record for domains and IP address blocks. For a domain you get the registrar, status codes, creation/expiry dates, name servers and DNSSEC state; for an IP you get the owning network, CIDR range and country.

This tool queries RDAP over HTTPS, so it works reliably even where legacy port-43 WHOIS is blocked. Enter a domain or an IP address above.

Frequently asked questions

What is RDAP?

RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) is the IETF-standard, JSON-over-HTTPS replacement for the old port-43 WHOIS protocol. It returns the same registration data in a structured, reliable form.

Why is some registrant contact info hidden?

Since GDPR, most registries redact personal contact details in public WHOIS/RDAP. Registrar, dates, status and name servers remain public.

Can I WHOIS an IP address?

Yes — enter an IP and you get the owning network (netname, CIDR range, country) from the responsible regional registry.
