The Challenge
Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) is the 2nd highest-ranking school district in Florida and required a new website to reflect that. It was essential to SCPS that their new website was built with the latest web technologies as their existing website was outdated. SCPS also needed to acquire ADA compliance and find a solution to prevent website security concerns. SCPS needed a mobile responsive website to cater to the growing number of mobile devices used by students, parents, and staff members. Being a central online destination for roughly 70,000 students in addition to their parents and families, SCPS required a secure and mobile responsive website that could grow in parallel with Seminole County.
Solution

SCPS required a dynamic school listings map application that uses an API integration with Google Maps to display all Seminole County Public Schools in relation to your location. The SCPS website now features artfully designed news and events applications that could be managed by the SCPS staff as well as an alert manager to communicate quickly with students, parents, and staff. In addition, SCPS needed a way to dynamically display ads on their website and tasked Solodev to build a custom application to manage and serve specific ads on certain pages of the SCPS website as designated by SCPS.
